History of Aarco Products, Inc.
Aarco had a deeply rooted history that extends prior to our founding on July 1st, 1975. The founding leadership of Aarco Products, father and son, were partners in another company that primarily manufactured sidewalk signs and slate chalkboards. At the time, this company was in Soho, Manhattan which provided us with the New York mindset of maintaining trust and reliability in our operations. Our founding leaders decided to culminate their values and vision and brought them east to Long Island.
Aarco’s first location was 2,000 square foot garage in Garden City Park. We had storage racks simply made from two-by-four planks of wood, a few hand drills, and no access to heavy equipment. Everything was carefully done by hand, and it took vigorous effort from everyone at the company. Two years later, we managed to outgrow that location and head further east to Happauge, where we would be stationed for the next eleven years.
In 1988, we found our forever home in Yaphank, New York, where we now manufacture the majority of our product line. After eight years, we decided it was time to enter the new construction industry with an architectural line of products. Here, we went from not only manufacturing consumer goods to including an entire line of specified products for the new construction industry. We believed that was a perfect integration because of our commitment to high-quality production and customer satisfaction. We never lost sight of our initial trade, however. We have expanded our commercial goods to better suit the commercial, hospitality, and food service industries with products such as our modern writing surfaces, LED illuminated signage, A-Frame sidewalk signs, and much more.
Now under our third generation of leadership, Aarco has developed and unfolded into what it has become today, but our core values are still deeply rooted in the company. From our humble beginnings, we’ve become a capable company that still has a strict commitment to personalized customer service and values long-term relationships. We are a family-run business, and we see our employees, vendors, customers, and partners as just that… family.
